What skills are most important for a job like yours?
The top skill I would say is effective communication. We use communication all day, so we have to communicate with stakeholders, vendors, and many other parties.
The second is problem-solving skills. Those are essential for work like this where we're solving problems. You have to have those skills.
After that, I'd list basic IT troubleshooting skills, for both hardware and software. Basic scripting and programming skills are also important, like using the command line and file manipulation.
Microsoft Office skills always come in handy. Know your Excel, your Word, and how to use Outlook.
Finally, written documentation for stakeholders. I put that as a skill because writing documentation is a skill on its own. Knowing that is very important for my job.
