What skills are most important for a job like yours?
Communications, for sure. I think it goes a long way to be very clear within your communications, and multiple communications in multiple forms.
There's written communication because of the amount of emails you're sending. There's also communication to clearly share the expectations that YouTube has for that specific partner.
Communication is not one-way; it goes both ways. Expressing yourself is one thing, but listening is another. So I think it's very important to be an active listener.
Make sure you are hearing what your partner is speaking about, and with that, set the right next steps and plan accordingly to your partner's needs.
I would also say prioritization, because it's a dynamic environment with multiple requests coming from multiple ways. There are internal and external requests, and you're managing tons of partners at the same time.
Every day, I have to sit down and think, "Okay, what is my one, two, three priority right now?" Because you can easily be overwhelmed and try to solve all the world's problems at once.
Making sure you have clear priorities in your mind and working through them in order definitely helps during your day-to-day.
