Transcript

What does a day in the life of a partner manager look like?

A lot of meetings, for sure. My main responsibility is with the external stakeholders of YouTube. Managing those relationships feels like the life of a sales rep.

I reach out to partners, meet with them, and prepare beforehand with presentations. I ensure the agenda makes sense and is relevant to them. Afterwards, there are follow-ups to make sure we're working towards the goals set in the meeting.

Usually, our meetings set the business agenda and joint business plans. Afterwards, there's a lot of work to implement the things we planned.

Beyond that, there are also internal meetings. One of the great things about working at Google is the possibility of cross-collaboration with other areas. Even though my main responsibility is YouTube and video strategy, partners often ask about multiple things.

For example, they might be interested in cloud solutions or Google ad campaigns. It's also my responsibility to represent them within the company and connect them to other areas. There are many opportunities for cross-collaboration, and thus, many internal meetings for that reason.
