What skills are most important for a job like yours?
At a job like mine, skills that are most important are in data analysis. Being able to quantify what someone is thinking or learning is incredibly important for making great decisions for children and for teams.
I think strong interpersonal skills are also deeply important, as well as strong customer service skills. Though I work predominantly with seven and eight-year-olds for eight hours a day, these children come from families who really depend on me. They rely on me to ensure that they are safe, loved, and cared for every day.
I partner with my colleagues, the kids in my classroom, as well as the families I serve directly. I also collaborate with those in our community who support our school.
