Main Responsibilities of a Procurement Agent at Boeing
As a Procurement Agent at Boeing, Urmi spends the day "evaluating any purchase requisitions and demand that's coming in" for commercial spare parts, deciding which suppliers are a good fit to produce those parts, and ultimately negotiating pricing to execute purchase orders. This involves a mix of analysis, supplier navigation, and negotiation, all to ensure the availability of airplane parts for stocking, inventory, or customer demand.

What does a day in the life of a procurement agent look like?
A day in the life of a procurement agent involves evaluating purchase requisitions and incoming demand. Currently, I work on the commercial spare side of the business.
This means I handle demands for airplane parts, whether they are for stocking and inventory initiatives or customer orders. I take that demand, analyze and evaluate it, and then navigate through potential suppliers.
I look for suppliers that would be a good fit to produce the parts. After evaluating their quotations and negotiating pricing, I execute purchase orders for those parts.
