Q7: Favorite parts of the industry.
The thing I enjoy most about being in higher education is that it's an educational environment. Coming from a consulting background, which was very sales-heavy, it feels like I'm in the business of providing information.
It's wonderful to be in an industry where everyone, especially at events like the GMAC annual conference, faces similar challenges. GMAC stands for Graduate Management Admissions Council, and it's specifically for graduate recruitment.
It's encouraging to see other schools dealing with the same issues. Ultimately, the mission is student-centric. Regardless of the school, the focus is on the students.
It's not competitive; it's inclusive and supportive, and I love being a part of that. Everyone here wants to help further the next generation of students and ensure they feel supported and included. That's probably what I enjoy most.
