What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I think the thing I enjoy most about being in the consulting industry is the variety. I have friends who have been working on the same product for years, and it's cool to see how a product has evolved.
I get bored easily; that's just how I am. Working in consulting has been really helpful because every project is something completely new.
I've worked in industries like med tech, quick-service restaurants, healthcare, video streaming, and security guard services. I've also worked with public city governments.
I've worked in so many different contexts and on all sorts of problems, from digital transformations and growth strategies to competitive tear-downs and digital blueprint and roadmap building. I've gotten to experience a huge array of different types of problems and spaces, which has been great for me.
It keeps me on my toes and lets me explore. It's also helped me clarify my career interests. When I think about working for 10, 20, or 30 years, consulting has given me a way to explore what topics I'd want to work on most and has helped me come up with some answers.
