What does a day in the life of a senior estimator look like?
A day in the life of a senior estimator is usually spent about half the time in meetings. These meetings can be with the design team or with my team. A lot of it is just aligning and talking through what's going on and what's on their minds, then talking through the pricing.
The other half is putting together all my numbers and budgets. This includes getting my pricing ready to present and reaching out to our trade partners. We spend about five hours a week calling trade partners.
We talk through what they are currently working on, where their budget is, and get numbers from them. It's a lot of compiling everything and getting it ready for presentation to the owner and our team.
