What does a day in the life of an account executive look like?

The day in the life has a lot of flexibility with my schedule, which is one of the things I love about sales. Not every company is like this, but with my company, there isn't a strict time I need to be in or leave the office.

Typically, I try to get into the office around 9:00 AM. For the first hour or so, I usually catch up on emails or LinkedIn messages. Catching up with coworkers also takes up a good portion of that time.

Most of my morning, from 10:00 AM until before lunch, is spent cold calling and working through my book of business. This involves reaching out to new accounts I haven't contacted in a while.

In the afternoon, I do more of that, but a large part of it is trying to find new people or accounts to reach out to that aren't in our system yet. I typically work between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on how hard I feel like working or what else I have going on. Demos are interspersed throughout the day, scheduled based on when I set them with prospects.
