Favorite Parts Of Being An Integration Developer At Salad And Go
T.J., an Integration Developer at Salad and Go, most enjoys the variety of technologies used in the fast-paced restaurant industry, citing the ability to "mess around with different technologies" and integrate them into the system as "pretty exciting stuff," such as exploring Amazon Alexa integration for store communication. The constant challenge and "curve ball" of a new problem each day, coupled with the satisfaction of completing a project and seeing it work, are also key aspects of the role that T.J. appreciates.

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
The industry allows us to play around with technologies that you don't get in some other industries. Often, you're funneled into one specific type of technology.
When you're in quick-service restaurants, especially with multiple locations, you're constantly looking for technologies and ways to make things more efficient or practical. Being able to experiment with different technologies you're unfamiliar with, research them, and then integrate them into your systems is pretty exciting.
I can give an example: being able to integrate Amazon Alexa into our stores and use it as a tool for communication with employees has been explored. Little things like that, being able to branch out and do things that aren't the norm, are what make it fun.
There's always a curveball, and that's what makes it enjoyable. Every day is a little different, and that's what I enjoy most. I also enjoy looking at data and that feeling when you finish a project and everything is working as it's supposed to.
