How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

You need to have a passion, knack, skill, or ability to educate. This applies whether it's through presentations, training, mentoring, or advising.

Ideally, you should have a way to convey information so students can learn effectively. Some people think standing in front of an audience is easy. I get nervous every time I start presenting, because we're all being judged.

Can you carry the voice for several hours of class? It's an innate ability to want to educate, but to do so in a way that makes sense, is passionate, and is driven.

You also need to engage the student so they can take away valuable insights from the class. I tell my students they might capture one out of five words I say. If those words make a difference or improve their marketing approach or career, then my job is done.

They can take away nuggets from the class, perhaps remembering "that nutty professor Tito taught me in marketing. How do I implement this in my life?" My hope is to deliver information that is relevant for your application and professional life.
