What does a day in the life of a professor look like?
I'm a clinical professor of marketing, which means I bring a lot of real-world experience to my role. I'm more of a professor of practice than a research-based professor with a typical PhD.
My day starts with lesson planning. I look at the critical aspects of the topic for that day and try to bridge the gap between book knowledge and current developments. Even the latest books can become outdated quickly.
I aim to make academic theory relevant to current real-life applications. After conducting classes, I have some time to relax. I also mentor a couple of students and engage in networking.
My life isn't solely focused on being a professor; I also work as a fractional CMO, consultant, and coach. These other parts of my life are managed throughout the week. It's rewarding and fun, though at times it can be a task. I do it because I love education and the field.
