What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?

It's funny. I wish I had done more in terms of networking with the students and young minds I teach. I was involved in student-led organizations for my trade, as I was a marketing major.

I joined the Marketing Society, and eventually, I participated in the American Marketing Association. Later, I pursued a master's degree and joined a master's group.

I often tell my students, "Your network is your net worth." It's important to build that network early on, especially in college. The best support you can have comes from your friends, colleagues, and fellow students.

This support extends to alumni networks, class networks, church networks, personal networks, and family networks. Your networking skills will significantly impact how far you go.

As they say, you are often the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Tell me who you hang out with, and I'll tell you who you are.

This is critical because if you associate with winners or influential people, you will naturally elevate your own game. So, network and actively develop those connections.

As a marketing professional, and especially so in today's world, beef up your professional profile and network. Communicate actively because you want to portray the brand that matters most to you.

Make that brand yours, expose it properly, and shine it. Ensure you put yourself forward, and you can achieve this through the power of your network.
