What does a day in the life of a diversity and inclusion talent acquisition leader look like?
It's a lot of meetings, so it's juggling quite a bit. In the talent acquisition space, there are team meetings that happen weekly to ensure the team is aligned and moving in the right direction.
At times, it involves meeting with leadership, such as VPs or L1s, depending on the organization's naming conventions. These leaders are heads of business units, and it's important they are fully informed about what's happening within their organizations.
From a talent acquisition perspective, this means answering questions and helping to problem-solve on requisitions or hires that might be tricky. Sometimes, it involves helping to solve issues when there are multiple offers in play. The goal is to find a solution that creates a win-win scenario for both the candidate and the organization.
On the diversity and equity side, there's a lot of data to constantly review. This includes looking at engagement data and performing multiple analyses to understand how employees are feeling. It also involves examining intersectionality data points to compare how different groups are feeling.
From this, we can develop programmatic solutions to test. If a solution proves effective, it will be implemented as standard work moving forward.
Another aspect of the diversity and inclusion space is presenting to global leaders on a monthly cadence. This can include micro-learnings around DEI principles to help leaders understand what it means to be an inclusive leader and how to demonstrate that. These conversations also involve coaching.
This provides a brief description of what a day in these roles would look like.
