What does a day in the life of a VP of business development look like?
I like to wake up without my phone, but that's not always the case because I need it. The first thing I do when I wake up is brush my teeth and go for a 10-minute walk before I check my phone. I've realized this is better for my well-being.
Then I would check my phone. If there's anything urgent, I'll start working on it. If not, I'll go through my emails to make sure everything is good and answered.
I like to schedule meetings that require more thinking in the mornings, as that's when I find myself most active and thinking. So in the morning, I usually have important meetings with clients or investors.
Towards the afternoon, I complete any tasks I have to do, respond to emails, or reach out to people. In the afternoon, I also spend my time focusing on my team and ensuring they have everything they need. I like to talk to my team almost every day to make sure they feel heard and that I'm available to help if needed.
Pretty much, I spend my afternoons with my team, making sure everything is working and going as it should. That's my day-to-day schedule when I'm not traveling. When I am traveling, I try to manage everything I mentioned, with all my meetings happening in person at conferences or other events.
