What skills are most important for a job like yours?
I would say probably, definitely the first one would be teamwork for a medical assistant. In any sort of medical practice, everyone working there is working as a team.
You have the medical assistant, sometimes you'll have a scribe. You'll have nurse practitioners or PAs or physicians, people who work at the front desk, and everyone kind of works together and plays an important role in running a practice. So definitely teamwork is important.
Also, communication, kind of going along the same lines, making sure you're communicating with everyone so everyone knows what you're doing and everyone's on the same page.
And then the other big one, I would probably say would be patience. Having patience. Patients can be difficult sometimes. So making sure that you have patience and you're able to work with them and listen to them, and then you can go complain about it later.
