Video Highlights
1. Consider the potential consequences of both written and verbal communication in a professional setting. Think before you speak or write, especially in male-dominated industries where comments might be interpreted differently.
2. Be mindful of the permanence of digital communication. Once something is written, it's difficult to retract, so exercise caution in what and how you communicate online.
3. Professional development and training are valuable. Companies often provide resources to help employees improve their communication and other essential skills. Take advantage of these opportunities to enhance your career

What is one lesson that you've learned that has proven significant in your career?
I'd say to be careful about what you say, whether it's written or verbal. In my first year or so, the person who trained me advised me to hold off on certain comments.
He said it might not seem like a big deal now, but it will be down the road. That was really helpful for me to hear, especially in such a male-dominated industry.
I'm very open and outgoing, but it's important to know when to bite your tongue and let someone else speak, or say nothing at all. Even now, with technology, Arcadia, the company I work for, has in-depth security training and onboarding.
They emphasize never putting anything in writing unless you're shouting it from the rooftops. Once it's out there, it has your name on it and you can't take it back. So, being mindful of both those things is really important.
