What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
Two things in undergrad set me up for success in my career. The first was my major of finance and accounting, which is essentially the language of business. This provided a great foundation to launch into a career in banking and then pivot into consulting.
The second thing was being social and talking to people. I feel that's a big skill for a consultant. It's about gathering different perspectives and learning from people's life experiences.
This helps you not only better yourself and create a better worldview, but also to be friendly, listen to people, and help them out if you can. You can learn from their mistakes or experiences and share that knowledge. These were two big things that helped set me up for career success.
