What is one lesson that you've learned that has proven significant in your career?
One lesson I've learned is to never say, "That's not my job." My advice, and the advice I've taken from this lesson, is to chip in and do what needs to be done, even if it's not your responsibility.
Do what needs to be done to help someone or find a solution, always. This is especially important when no one's watching, because those are the moments that will build your reputation and your brand.
When I talk about building your brand, I mean what makes you who you are in the workplace. It's doing what needs to be done, being proactive about problem-solving, and finding the solution. Never say again, "That's not my job."
