Entry-level positions for aspiring Founders and Presidents
Simran suggests entry-level candidates consider coordinator-level positions, especially within operations, highlighting experience as a "people operations coordinator" or "executive assistant" as valuable starting points. Demonstrating administrative skills and a "doer" mentality can pave the way to roles like Chief of Staff, CEO, or COO, and HR positions like Head of HR or People Operations Specialist, all offering "six figure salaries."

What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate or graduate student might consider?
That's a good question. I think anything in operations is a viable path. You can start at a coordinator level, which is usually an entry-level position that you can definitely go into.
I started off as a People Operations Coordinator in operations. That role helped me understand the skill sets needed to become a Chief of Staff. My background was also in administration, and I worked as an executive assistant to CEOs. These are entry-level positions.
My story is a bit unique because I entered at these entry-level positions and figured out how to keep moving up. If you're watching this and know that administration is your strong suit, if you're able to get things done, pick things up, and take them where they need to go, and you're a doer, then I think there are career paths you should explore.
Chief of Staff is one of them. COO is another. So don't think that starting as an administrative assistant means you can't become a COO.
Immediately after graduating, I worked for an influencer as her executive assistant for her beauty brand. That brand is now called Live Tinted. I was the executive assistant to the CEO there.
It's funny, but I was very young and thinking about how to make this work in my favor. I looked at Stephanie Shepherd, Kim Kardashian's former assistant, who became the COO of her own company. I realized then that this was a career path.
From the moment I graduated college, I knew this was what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go. I have the skill sets to be an executive. So, if not at the executive or Chief of Staff level, I also think HR is another place you can go.
There are so many different levels in HR, like Head of HR, People Operations Coordinator, and People Operations Specialist. These are all six-figure salary positions. Everything I'm sharing right now can lead to a six-figure base salary.
