How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I would say people who have a lot of patience, particularly in the real estate industry. They need to be people-oriented and able to juggle many things at the same time.
I would say there are a lot of highly functioning ADHD people in this field because we can go from task to task. We also work really well under fire and under stress.
There are so many roles to play as a realtor all at once, and you're constantly having to shift gears. So people who can shift gears very fast are successful. Also, those who can take rejection well in terms of offers, because oftentimes you'll lose offer after offer.
They shouldn't dwell on the past, but just keep focused on the future and be positive. You can also manage clients so they're not constantly losing.
And who are good at analysis, and who have good people skills as well. Because it's all about your relationship to the listing agent, so that you can get to know what is the price that you have to pay for that property.
