Significant Career Lesson From A Realtor At EXP Realty

Silvia, a Realtor/Investor/Advisor, emphasizes the importance of mentorship, coaching, and continuous self-investment through training and community engagement, stating "investing in continuing to invest in yourself in training and coaching" is crucial, because Silvia wishes they had sought out mentors and coaches earlier in their career to expand opportunities and ideas. Silvia highlights the value of "participating in the communities" through real estate meetups or VC meetups and networking to see what others are doing in the field.

What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

I would say if you can find at least one or two mentors in a career you're looking to get into, and possibly have coffee or lunch with them once a month or once every other month, that would be really helpful. I wish I had a mentor; I never had one.

Also, consider hiring a coach. I didn't even know about real estate coaches for years, for probably ten years. There are also training courses in real estate for different arenas; I didn't know about those for many years.

So, invest in yourself through training and coaching. Participating in communities, whether those are real estate meetups or VC meetups, and going to events related to your fields is also important. Continuing to network and seeing what's out there is really important for every field. It really expands opportunities and ideas of what others are doing. So, I would definitely encourage people to do that.
