Biggest Challenges Faced By A President At Suite Answers That Work

Shawn, President at EXCION Corporation, finds the most challenging part of the role to be sales, specifically the "process of cold calling or reaching out to people you don't know" due to a dislike of interruption, a feeling that is projected onto the sales aspect of the job. With a background in accounting and operations, putting oneself "into a sales mindset" requires stepping outside of a comfort zone.

What is your biggest challenge in your role?

My biggest challenge in my role is probably doing sales. I feel like you're always in sales and you're always selling your product and your service.

By doing that, I have a lot of business that comes to me from referrals. However, the actual process of cold calling or reaching out to people you don't know is a bit of a challenge for me.

I know personally, I don't like to be interrupted when I'm working, and I don't like to have people reach out to me who I don't know. So, I probably project a lot of that onto the sales part of my job.

I've worked well with partners to develop relationships and to increase sales. But for me, the hardest part is putting myself into a sales mindset, knowing that I have to do something different than I usually do. My background is more in accounting and operations.
