Shawn, an Enterprise Account Executive at a cybersecurity startup, highlights the significant shortage of early-career professionals in the field, stating that "there are so many roles in this industry." The best approach for undergraduate students, according to Shawn, is to research roles on LinkedIn and directly contact individuals in desired departments to explore entry-level opportunities.

What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?
There are a lot of positions. I think that cybersecurity is one of the largest shortages and the biggest gap in what we need in this industry. It's definitely on the front end of the market, which is the early career folks.
The biggest thing that I would say is, whether you're technical or non-technical, there are so many roles in our industry. LinkedIn is a great source, and there are other great sources for finding out what's available.
I would say go look at the roles. Go look at who might be in that department at a company and reach out to them. Ask them if there's something that you could apply for. That would be the best way. There are so many roles in this industry.
