Sharon finds the HR space exceptionally rewarding due to its multifaceted nature, particularly in leading leadership development courses and witnessing individuals rise to the occasion, exceeding expectations and showcasing their potential as leaders, even when others have "discounted their value". What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
That one is so hard. I don't know that I could pinpoint one thing that I enjoy about working in the HR space because it is all so rewarding. Leading and teaching leadership development courses, seeing people rise to the occasion and exhibit themselves as potential leaders when others have discounted their value. There are so many aspects to HR that are rewarding and bring me great joy.
HR is multifaceted, so the rewards are multifaceted as well, if you can effectively manage the need to be several people at once. I thrive in the different things that are thrown at me daily. I thrive in seeing other people succeed, and I really love building a team that can rely on each other.
It is so fun to see this, not just within one organization, but within several. I've been in HR with several organizations, and what I've seen be consistent is seeing other people succeed whom people didn't believe in. It's also rewarding to be able to set in place systems that will be there long after I'm gone, and that others will get to benefit from.
