What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

I've been working in nonprofits for about eight years now. Something I really enjoy is that nonprofits are very values-driven and centered on their mission. They focus on their long-term vision for the world and the changes they want to see.

This really speaks to me and creates a working environment where I can show up authentically and be valued. I'm able to work in a place whose values align with mine. This also means that the teams and organizations I'm part of have emotionally invested staff, stakeholders, and communities.

The work is personal, and I think that makes all the difference in how we show up for each other, the relationships we build, and how meaningful the work can be. It's not just about showing up during work hours and then checking out. These are people's real lives that you're impacting.

That is the most important thing for me to feel fulfilled by my work. It's not just another thing to put on my resume, but something that is really meaningful to me.
