Entry-level Positions for Aspiring Marketers at Amazon Web Services

Entry-level marketing and PR roles abound for undergraduates, with opportunities in "design to events, to content, uh, you know, there's just so many different digital," including social media; a junior-level position, either in-house or at an agency, provides a foundation for senior-level growth, reflecting the fact that "none of us got to where we are by already being, you know, the expert in them."

Transcript

What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?

There are plenty of opportunities. Whether you want to go into marketing or PR, it depends on whether you want to work in-house first or at an agency.

Of course, these would be junior-level positions, but it really depends on the specific vertical within marketing you're interested in. There's so much to consider, from design and events to content and social media.

The list of digital marketing areas goes on. In all of these roles, there's an opportunity to grow into very senior positions, and also to enter the workforce in them.

From a PR perspective, you could start out as a PR specialist or do an internship in any of these roles. It just depends on the company, whether you want to work in-house or at an agency.

There's really something for everyone, depending on what they're looking to get into. None of us reached our current positions by already being experts; we all started from square one, more or less.
