What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

As a writer and creative director, the biggest responsibility is writing. This often involves a lot of time spent at the screen, writing and ideating.

Being in touch with everything happening in the themed entertainment and experiential spaces is another big responsibility. You need a strong knowledge base of what's out there so you can pull relevant references and create cool experiences for new projects.

Collaboration is also a significant part of the job. As a creative director, you work with a project team, typically including an art director and a master planner. You need to know how to communicate with them, understanding their roles to ensure the project's success.

Finally, pitching is a major aspect of this role. Coming up with ideas is one thing, but being able to pitch them effectively is another. This is a skill I had to learn as a writer; writers are often reserved. Transitioning from writer to creative director requires the ability to speak up, be bold, and confidently sell your ideas.
