What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
I would say effort always beats talent and smarts. But those two combined are super powerful.
Also, show up every day, have a positive attitude, and roll with the punches. Don't be that person who's always complaining or feels slighted.
Everybody will have successes and failures at some points in their life. You really have to focus on the controllables.
Control what you can control, and everything else will take care of itself. Once you master those things, people will start to recognize and respect you for your effort and the respect you have for the job and the company.
Every situation is different. But I would say, control what you can control, put in the effort every day, fight the good fight, keep your nose to the grindstone, and good things will happen.
