What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
I would say managing multiple stakeholders. We're working with people from sales, marketing, learning design, and business strategy. There are many different stakeholders who want their needs conveyed in the onboarding program.
You have to find a balancing act to ensure everyone's needs are met, while also being fair and delivering a feasible program. Sometimes people want training in a format that isn't the right fit. For example, something might be better trained by a manager than a dedicated trainer.
Managing different stakeholder expectations is probably the most challenging part. You need good relationships to push back and deliver news they may not want to hear. It's important to explain why decisions are made and how you're helping them.
Another challenging aspect is that our onboarding content is always changing. Salesforce is innovative, releasing many new products each year. Making sure your content is up to date is crucial.
It's a bummer when training content isn't accurate. That creates a bad experience for learners and for the person delivering the content. We do a lot of audits and double-checking to ensure everything has the most up-to-date information.
