People skills are important, but you don't have to be an extrovert. Being able to talk to people is key.

In my role on the community relations team, we work directly with customers. We have booths out in the community, and you have to be able to engage and be around people.

As a director, I find being organized is a crucial skill. My team helps keep everything running smoothly and on track.

So, organizational skills, communication skills, and a positive attitude are all vital. Some days are tough, but maintaining a positive outlook helps when working with the community.
