What are some of the main responsibilities as a founder of a company?

I think a few things change, but a few things remain consistent. To start, a consistent task is being the face of the brand. It's up to me to sell the vision, not only to our customers and potential customers, but also to the rest of the team.

My role is to remind everyone why we're doing what we're doing. We're not just showing up to work every day from nine to five to have a job. We have a goal and a mission to create value for our clients and customers. I try to remind myself of this every day, whether it's client-facing or internal with the teams.

I see it as a little bit of everything, and a big component is managing the team. This can be seen in many ways, but a lot of it is just being there to support everyone and encourage questions. When I am organized and prepared at the beginning of the week, it sets a great example for the rest of the team.

I encourage everyone to ask questions, communicate, and double-check things. To me, communication is truly key. I never want anyone on the team to be unsure of something or to hesitate to ask questions. It's really a team effort.

A big component of my day-to-day work is management and making sure everyone feels good and enjoys the work we're doing. This helps us get tasks done and, as a result, create value for our customers. It's a little bit of everything, though.

This includes marketing, reaching out to new clients, and a lot of client relations. We maintain our gardens on a weekly basis for our clients here in Los Angeles. We really like to have great relationships with our clients and learn what they like, what they don't like, what they consume regularly, and what they want on an irregular basis.

I encourage as much feedback from them as possible so we can refine how we do our job to best fit their needs. Client relations would be huge. This takes up the majority of my time.

I also try to take a little bit of time each week to work on future growth and strategy. This is something that, because it's not pressing, can be easy to forget about or push off. However, especially as a business grows, you really do want to set goals and review them, adjusting as needed and pivoting as needed. With the time I have left, I really try to focus on future growth and strategy, ensuring we carry that vision to the next step.
