How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

Being really driven and motivated are qualities relevant to any industry. You have to continue to motivate yourself, set goals, and push yourself toward them.

Something else I've noticed among peers in technology sales who have advanced and done well are those who advocate for themselves. It's important to ensure your manager sees the work you're doing and the projects you're taking on.

Speak up about your interests, like wanting to learn more about a particular function. Being vocal about it is key. It's crucial to speak up for yourself, promote yourself, and advocate for yourself, as this leads to advancement.

Drawing from personal experience as a female who identifies as Hispanic, we tend not to do this as much. This has been a challenge for me, but it's something I want to encourage.

Whatever field you enter, make sure you're promoting yourself, advocating for yourself, and asking for help when needed. Being more vocal than you might be comfortable with is an important skill to hone.
