What does a day in the life of a startup executive look like?

The short answer is it depends on the day. The longer answer would be, it really does depend on the time of year, the day, and the company's priorities at the time.

A lot of similar tasks come up, very basically the administrative tasks. You do end up spending quite a bit of time looking at emails and spreadsheets and making sure everything is up to date and correct. Quite a bit of time is spent on emailing and reviewing people's work.

A good amount of my time is spent looking over what people are doing and then having conversations with individuals. This includes team brainstorming sessions, strategizing, writing up proposals, and then helping individuals get things done.

Since revenue is such a big part of any startup's journey and profit and loss statement, a lot of my time was also spent on the growth side. This meant getting my hands dirty with marketing and sales and actually working to acquire more clients.

Then, on the operations side, I worked to make sure those clients were happy. I also built up programs and documentation to ensure everything flows smoothly. Since I'm doing everything every single day, I'm trying to balance whatever needs my attention the most, while also getting the administrative tasks done that need to get done that day.
