What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
I think the biggest challenge is following up with people to make sure things are getting done. I've worked with a lot of really great people, though, so usually that's not so much of an issue.
But when you have a lot of balls in the air, you really need a good system to keep yourself and other people accountable. When you work with other people who maybe don't work so efficiently or understand the urgency of deadlines, it can make my job extremely hard.
That's definitely one element. Obviously, being proactive has really helped. Thinking ahead, emailing people, sending reminders, setting up reminder tasks—all of that really helps.
Sometimes getting buy-in from stakeholders and aligning on a vision, especially when working across different business segments, can be challenging. You need to make sure everyone's goals and needs are met.
Again, I've worked with really great professionals who don't let their personal interests get in the way. They think about what is best for the business. At the end of the day, we're all on the same team. As long as everyone knows that, it's not too challenging. It's not putting out fires, but they're always there. I don't feel like that's the biggest challenge.
