The biggest skills are communication and being able to tell a sharp story. We call it storytelling in our line of work, but it's not just what you say, it's how you say it. It’s about how you tell that story and how you structure it logically.

The other pieces are around problem-solving. This means anticipating not only the benefits but also the potential risks and cons. Are you thinking through a realm of possibilities? Are you coming up with the highest value creation for the least amount of effort?

It's also about collaborating with different people to ensure broad alignment and syndication of perspectives and insights. So, those skills are problem-solving and communication.

We use a lot of PowerPoint and Excel, so having strength with those tools is important. But as you get more senior, you don’t have to do those things as much. You focus more on client development and client coaching.
