What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
My biggest challenge is keeping up to date with what my customers are doing. Everything keeps changing, everything keeps evolving. Prior to COVID, having in-person meetings was convenient, as was going to events, like packaging expos.
After COVID, things shifted, and everyone has gone digital. Everything keeps changing. Sometimes now, it's digital. Are you sending emailers? Customers don't like emailers anymore because they're getting so many.
So, I have to continuously research ways to reach our customers. I need to understand where they are. Are they using artificial intelligence now, or are they using Google search? Are they more on social media? Have they moved? Are they now on TikTok? Where are they getting recommendations from?
I think that's one of the challenges – customers are continuously evolving. I constantly have to do market research to understand what our customers are doing and what the best way is to reach them. I always have to adapt our strategy depending on the customers to understand their best form of communication.
How do we keep this relationship alive? How do we retain this customer? It is a downside, but it's also good because it challenges me to always understand our customers and what we can do to reach them. What are they using now? How can we be in the face of customers as well?
