What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?

The first option is becoming a student aid or a teaching assistant, depending on how the school system designates those roles. My school, for example, has student interns starting at the high school level.

These interns work with teachers on reading groups or office tasks. This can be a volunteer role, allowing you to get your feet wet. Many of our teachers came from these pathways, starting as volunteers.

They then worked their way into positions or interned with us in college or through our summer program. Now, they've moved up to become teachers or join the leadership team.

Schools would love to have valuable, useful people with talent, whether that's working with families or in decoration and development. They welcome individuals who are excited, passionate, and want to give back in various ways. This could lead to opportunities to join the staff in a more permanent career aspect.
