Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college and any internships or jobs you had before your current role?
I graduated from UC Berkeley and worked as a paralegal in San Francisco for an antitrust lawyer, which I found very interesting. Then I went to the University of California, San Francisco Law School.
After law school, because I was very interested in the subject, I worked for the Federal Trade Commission in the San Francisco Regional office for four years. One of my assignments was to work on the Federal Trade Commission Franchise Disclosure Rule.
This rule is designed to stop fraud in the sale of franchises. After that, I went into practice with a small law firm and within a year started my own firm, which I've had ever since.
Gradually, I have become specialized in franchise law, only representing franchisees, the people who buy franchises. I've been doing that ever since and enjoying it.
