What does a day in the life of a managing partner look like?

I'd say it varies from day to day, but in general, there are a few primary recurring responsibilities. The first is that in the first half of the day, it's a lot of client calls.

This involves connecting with clients to review what we've been working on and to look ahead at what's coming up and what we want to build towards. So, I spend the morning and afternoon on these client calls.

Then, whether it's via Slack or a Zoom meeting, I'm working with the team members assigned to each project. We need to get everyone on the same page and ensure we're aligned with the client's requests.

This means client calls, then working internally to align on the products. In the evening, I spend time directly with engineers and product managers to ensure we're implementing what the client needs.

This includes having daily standup meetings with engineers on whatever the project requires, and advising them. Primarily, it's client calls, working internally with project teams, and then spending time with engineers to ensure we're designing and coding properly.
