What skills are most important for a job like yours?
I think what I bring to the table is that I really like working with people. I really care about my fellow board members, and most importantly, I care about the mission of serving students and making sure they have all the supports they need to be successful in their learning.
I think it's being aware, working collaboratively, and being open to new ideas. In education, some of the best advice, and I think across the board, is good advice: steal good ideas.
What I mean by that is look for what is successful somewhere else and figure out how to make that your own. How can you make that fit with the work you are doing?
