What does a day in the life of a director of strategic partnerships look like?
The ideal day is a balance of internal and external engagements. What I would love every single day to look like and work towards involves productive meetings with our program staff. During these meetings, I aim to understand their impact priorities and the work they hope to advance in the communities we serve.
Then, I take that vision and articulate it to our partners through external engagements and meetings. This allows us to see how our impact priorities and what we hope to accomplish to support communities across Los Angeles align with their mission-driven initiatives.
Ideally, on in-office days, I meet with my programs team and my finance team. This is to discuss funding needs and the budget. Afterward, I go out and meet with our partners to learn more about their goals. Networking mixers and partner events are also opportunities to attend. These help me stay connected to our work across the sector.
