What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

I think about my job in PR in two categories. The first is the external piece, which is actually the vast majority of my job.

Externally, my main responsibility is media relations. This includes everything from responding to press inquiries to creating media kits and preparing executives for interviews. It also involves pitching product launches and securing speaking opportunities for our leadership team at industry conferences.

I consider all of that to be part of the external aspect of my work, and it truly makes up the majority of my tasks.

However, there is also a significant internal component to my role. Internally, PR acts as a connective tissue between teams such as brand marketing, social media, legal, and product. This gives me exposure to many different departments. We bring these various elements together to help craft the external story that we will then share with journalists.
