What do you enjoy most about being in your role?

What I enjoy most about my role is when I get a chance to be at the individual school sites. I've learned so much about where our budget goes because I get to see it firsthand, and that's really important to me.

School is so different from when I was in school, and I think most people will find that to be true. We have a lot of social-emotional learning that's necessary for students to focus on the academic part of their school experience.

Seeing that look students have, at any level, when they connect to the material and find it interesting is fulfilling. You know they're going to learn because you've got them involved.
