College Experiences That Helped A Trustee On A School Board Succeed
Noel believes constantly absorbing as much knowledge as possible like "a sponge" during college helped build a foundation of confidence for a career as a Trustee and School Board Member; joining student groups towards the end of college was also crucial for developing essential prosocial skills, which were initially lacking, and other soft skills needed for any career.

What did you do in college to set you up for success in your career?
As I said earlier, I always liked school. When you're a kid, you just want to go out and play.
But I really liked reading and learning, so I just took in as much as I possibly could. I think I was always kind of like a sponge, and that's probably still true to this day.
Having as big a knowledge base as I could for a lot of things helped me build confidence. I also joined a couple of student groups when I was in college, really towards the end of my time there. That helped me build confidence and develop some of my prosocial skills.
Before college, my prosocial skills weren't doing too hot. College was a fundamental time for me to develop just as a person, and also with the soft skills that anybody's going to need to be able to do any career.
