What does a day in the life of a senior director of global corporate communications look like?

Marco, I'm not going to lie to you. It depends on the day. Regardless of what's happening, I always start with the news.

I wake up and have a cup of coffee, but the news is the first thing I go to. From there, I move on to auditing our social channels to see what's going on and what's trending.

From there, it's diving into a series of meetings. I'm a big proponent of time blocking, and that's important. As someone who oversees global corporate communications, my day can begin with a meeting at 6:00 AM and end with a meeting at 9:00 PM. I truly cover the entire world based on where our company operates.

Once I'm finished with my meetings, I dive into my time blocks, where I do focus work. This is where I'm writing, developing new campaigns and strategies, and diving into any crisis and risk communications needs we have.

I end my day the same way that I began it: a scan of the news to see what's going on. There's a TV behind me, and there's a TV in every office. Generally speaking, the TVs in my office are all on various news stations so that the news is omnipresent throughout my day.
