What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I am currently a senior territory manager. I manage a large territory that spans from Palo Alto, California, down through West San Jose, to Salinas and the Monterey Peninsula.
My company focuses on cardiac monitoring, capturing arrhythmias for patients with or without symptoms. We provide a platform that helps doctors read AI-generated reports from the monitors.
My day-to-day work varies significantly. A fun aspect of my current role, where I've been for almost three years, is calling on various specialties. One day I might be in a cardiology office, working with the practice manager, meeting with a cardiologist, or training medical assistants on applying a monitor patch.
The next day, I could be at a primary care office, educating staff on the benefits of cardiac monitoring within primary care, given the long wait times for specialist appointments. This involves a lot of in-person meetings, which I really enjoy.
I struggled with desk jobs where I was always on the computer. It's fulfilling to be out visiting different customers. I aim to visit customers three to four days a week.
I typically reserve Mondays or Fridays for administrative tasks. This includes catching up on emails, follow-ups, handling Zoom meetings with customers, processing expenses, and attending trainings.
At my company, we prioritize staying knowledgeable about our products, the industry, and disease states. We have ongoing learning and training sessions to ensure our skills remain up to date.
