What did you do in your undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
My journalism degree helped me a lot. I learned how to network, how to write, and how to tell stories. While I didn't end up becoming a broadcast journalist, I still use my degree countless times.
I work with people on a daily basis and tell stories about candidates and clients. I make things happen through communication, which was the biggest thing I did in undergrad.
My three internships also really helped me learn exactly what I wanted to do. I interned in advertising, broadcast, and public relations.
All three of those experiences landed me my career in recruiting. While recruiting isn't necessarily a degree, a communications or journalism degree, along with psychology and business courses, has been incredibly helpful. The psychology courses taught me how to read people, and the business courses have also been beneficial.
