What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
The internships I completed were helpful in giving me a foundation of what to expect going into my first professional position in PR. I also think that while not everyone has the opportunity, I was very fortunate to be able to study abroad.
While it may not seem like the skills you learn doing that are directly translatable to a role in PR, you learn independence, problem-solving, and adaptability. You also learn to embrace differences between yourself and others.
In a professional environment, you're not always going to be the same as your coworkers. Being able to look at and appreciate those differences sets you up to be successful in an office environment where you are working with people from all different backgrounds, cultures, and belief systems. So, those are the things that I completed or did that really set me up for success in my career.
