What's one lesson you've learned that has proven significant in your career?
This lesson has proven true throughout my time in college sports, my time in the military, and my time here at Boeing. That lesson is: the mission is first, but people are always second.
We all get so caught up in trying to reach the goal and hit the deliverable. Often, that means people can be thrown under the bus or sacrificed in order to get there.
But from my time being an officer and a captain on different sports teams, it's absolutely critical to have the people around you taken care of in order to achieve that mission. So, while the mission is first, the people are always on your mind. They always need to be taken care of for us to really get the results that we want.
